WITH participants to the 1st Pintakasi International Derby Championship nearing the 100-entry mark, derby co-hosts Rolando "Ka Lando" Luzong and Nick Crisostomo officially announced yesterday that the guaranteed cash prize for the historic cockfighting event now stands at P7 million.
The entry fee is set at P33,000.
Dubbed as the "The Bloodline Challenge," the 1st Roligon Pintakasi International Challenge 12-Cock International Gamefowl Breeders Derby is set to feature not only the country's veteran and upcoming rooster-raisers, but also the best gamefowl propagators from all over the world.
Slated for 2023 at the Roligon Mega Cockpit, the Pintakasi will have its 3-cock eliminations on February 18, 20 and 21 followed by the 4-cock semifinals on February 22, 23 and 24. The 5-cock pre-finals will be on February 25 and 27 and the 5-cock championships is set on February 28.
Supporting this record-setting event are Kelly Everly (Kentucky, USA), Fil-Am Ely Andresio (Texas, USA), Bong Raig (California, USA), Jimmy Holland (Kentucky, USA), Ian de Guzman and Glen Vasquez – GV Scarlet (Chicago, Illinois, USA), Miguel Arizola (Peru), Byron Espiza (Ecuador), VDM 68 – Vince, David and Marc (Vietnam), Gusko Adyana (Indonesia) and Chinh Piseth and The Cambodia Association of Gamefowl Preservation.

Also backing the Pintakasi International Derby is the Asociacion Mundial de Criadores de Gallos de Combate (AMCGE) or the World Association of Fighting Cock Breeders, represented by its worldwide president Victor Manuel Negrete Castañeda of Lima, Peru; AMCGE-USA president Larry Esquivel of California and AMCGE-Ecuador President Felipe Chiriboga of Quito, Ecuador.
Local and foreign participants will also get the chance to attend the 2023 International Gamefowl Festival and Hobby Expo at the SMX Convention Centre in Pasay City on February 17 to 19.
