THE city government of Cavite jumpstarted its weeklong celebration of Cavite City Day with an Alay Lakad for the Caviteño Youth on Saturday morning.

The walk, which started at the Checkpoint Arch in Dalahican and ended at the Samonte Park grounds, was led by Mayor Denver Chua, Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit and Councilor Nash Aguas of the Committee on Tourism.

It was joined by thousands of residents from the 84 barangay of the city, Philippine Navy, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare and Development, nongovernment organizations and sectoral groups.

Chua, Rusit and Aguas, along with other city councilors, also led the opening of the historic Ciudad De Cavite Photo and Food Exhibit at the SM Rosario activity center on Saturday.
