BAGUIO CITY: A total of 38 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Baguio City Jail have completed and graduated under the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program of the Department of Education (DepEd) with the theme "Gradwet ng K-12: Masigasig sa mga Pangarap at Matatag sa Pagsubok" on August 26. Of the graduates, 30 are from the male dorm with three graduates from elementary and 27 from junior high school. There were also eight graduates from the female dorm with two graduates from elementary and six from junior high school. Jail warden Supt. Mary Ann Tresmanio said the PDL graduates have completed six months of mobile learning and completed the minimum requirements set for basic education through the ALS under the K to 12 program of the DepEd. The graduation ceremony was attended by President/Directress of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Montessori and former Outstanding Citizen of Baguio awardee Dona Digna Rosario as guest speaker, City Schools Division Superintendent Federico Martin, and other DepEd officials.
