The Comelec facilitated the plebiscite to ratify the conversion of the municipality of Calaca into a component city by virtue of the commission's Resolution 10799.

A peaceful, orderly and smooth conduct of the plebiscite has been observed in the newly proclaimed city through the support of the Philippine National Police, the Department of Education and other government institutions.
