THE treasurer of the National Chess Federation of the Philippines has sued the NCFP, claiming the association’s elections on July 31 were illegal and that secretary-general Sammy Estimo had usurped his powers.

Constantino Marcaida has filed two civil suits—Nos. 04-535 12 and 04-53561—to nullify the results of the July 31 exercise, because it violated the NCFP’s charter, and compel Estimo to make a public accounting on the disbursement of the chess group’s funds.
