With the province’s quarantine facilities now overwhelmed, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson has advised towns and cities to use classrooms as quarantine centers. Records showed the province has an average of 200 active cases daily for the past several days. Dr. Gerhart Zeaphard Caelian reported the EB Magalona Healing Center is now being occupied by 179 Covid-19 patients, way beyond its capacity of 107. The Silay City Healing Center, which can accommodate 206 people, is now fully occupied after 150 returning residents from Manila were brought in addition to 106 already occupying the facility. The Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia, which has a capacity of 88, is now occupied by 62 patients.
